On this section you can find a list of the main Emilian art cities: Ferrara, Bologna, Modena and Parma.

The provinces of Bologna, Ferrara, Modena, Parma and Reggio Emilia are the birthplaces of some of the greatest Italian painters, between the 15th and 17th century: Carracci, Guercino, Guido Reni, Elisabetta Sirani, Dosso Dossi, Parmigianino and Correggio.

Their masterpieces are partly exhibited in the major art collections all around the world and contribute to give a very strong international appeal. Some famous examples are the Dresden’s Old Master Gallery, the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, the Prado Museum in Madrid, the Louvre Museum in Paris, the National Gallery of Art in New York and the London’s National Gallery.
